Massage for desk-tight shoulders
If your upper traps feel like cables by Thursday, you are not alone. A lot of Collingwood and Renfrew desk work stacks the same pattern: shoulders shrug toward the ears, the mid-back rounds, and the neck pays the bill.
What registered massage can help with
RMT work is useful for soft-tissue tightness, headaches that start in the neck and shoulders, and recovery after a heavy training week. It is not a cure-all, and it is not a diagnosis. The goal is often simpler: reduce guarding so you can move and sleep better.
What you can do between visits
Every half hour, drop the shoulders and open the chest for 30 seconds. Keep the monitor near eye level. If a laptop is your only screen, a stand plus separate keyboard usually helps more than “sitting up straighter.”
When to book sooner
Book an assessment if pain runs into the arm, wakes you at night, followed a car accident, or keeps getting worse despite rest. Bring your ICBC claim number if you are coming in after a collision — and note that our RMT is not accepting ICBC patients (since March 2024).
