About Us

The Rupert Health Centre was opened by Dr. Kevin Leung in October 2005 in the Collingwood neighbourhood of Vancouver. We offer expertly delivered services in active rehabilitation, chiropractic, custom orthortics, laser therapy and registered massage therapy.

Our goal is dedicated to educating our patients in all aspects of health. We treat a wide range of conditions such as back/neck pain, headaches/migraines, joint pain, etc. We accept all extended health care insurance, MSP, WCB, ICBC & DVA.

Biographies

Dr. Kevin Leung, B.Sc., D.C.

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Kevin Leung graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1998 with a Bachelor degree in Science (Kinesiology). He went on to Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon, where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 2003. After graduation, Dr. Leung practiced in Washington State and returned to Vancouver to practice in 2004. His special interest includes sports injuries and motor vehicle accidents and utilizes rehabilitation exercises along with chiropractic manipulations, physical modalities and soft tissue release techniques to treat injuries.

Dr. Kevin Leung regularly volunteers with the Collingwood Neighbourhood House and gives lectures to seniors and new settlers to the Collingwood area. Topics include Osteoporosis, fall prevention and the Medical Service Plan.

Dr. Kevin Leung's athletic achievement includes a bronze medal in the 1992 B.C. Summer Games for Volleyball.

Dr. Kevin Leung is a member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, British Columbia College of Chiropractic and the British Columbia Chiropractic Association.

Jonathan Lumanlan, RMT

Registered Massage Therapist

Jonathan Lumanlan is an RMT and graduate of the West Coast College of Massage Therapy 2009.

Jonathan incorporates a variety of techniques into his massage treatments including: Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, deep tissue massage, joint mobilizations, hydrotherapy, and remedial exercises. Therapy sessions start with an assessment and consultation and a post treatment discussion regarding home self-care includes: remedial exercise based on the clients abilities and lifestyle, hydrotherapy, self-massage and diaphragmatic breathing. Jonathan's personal approach to maintaining health is based on the body's natural healing power. He applies a variety of techniques tailored to your individual needs, in order to restore the body's proper alignment and posture. He has enjoyed working on a wide range of pathologies from chronic pain, headaches, muscle imbalances in the shoulder girdle or pelvis regions, and nerve irritation in the neck, shoulders, low back and hips.

Jonathan resides in Burnaby, and ultimately dreams of building his practice through the community and showing people the benefits of massage and a stretching and strengthening program.
